William I of Holland
William I of Holland was born in 1284 and became the Count of Holland in 1304. He was a member of the House of Avesnes and played a significant role in the politics of the Low Countries during the early 14th century. His reign was marked by conflicts with neighboring territories and internal struggles for power.
In 1345, William I was elected King of the Romans, a title that made him a contender for the Holy Roman Empire.
