Coryphaena hippurus
Coryphaena hippurus, commonly known as the mahi-mahi or dolphinfish, is a vibrant, fast-swimming fish found in warm oceanic waters worldwide. It is easily recognized by its bright green and yellow coloration, along with a distinctive, elongated body and a large, flat forehead. Mahi-mahi can grow up to 6.6 feet (2 meters) in length and weigh around 88 pounds (40 kilograms).
This species is highly sought after for its delicious, firm flesh and is popular in both commercial and recreational fishing. Mahi-mahi typically inhabit surface waters and are known for their acrobatic leaps when caught.
