Corroboree Frog
The Corroboree Frog is a small, brightly colored amphibian native to the mountainous regions of Australia. It is known for its striking black and yellow or white coloration, which serves as a warning to predators about its toxicity. This species primarily inhabits sphagnum moss and wetlands, relying on these environments for breeding and survival.
Corroboree Frogs are critically endangered due to habitat loss, climate change, and disease, particularly the chytrid fungus. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their habitats and increase their populations. Captive breeding programs are also being implemented to help ensure their survival in the wild.
