Coptic Orthodox Pope
The Coptic Orthodox Pope is the spiritual leader of the Coptic Orthodox Church, one of the oldest Christian denominations in the world. Based in Cairo, Egypt, the Pope oversees the church's activities, provides guidance to its followers, and represents the church in ecumenical dialogues with other Christian denominations.
The current Coptic Orthodox Pope, Pope Tawadros II, was enthroned in 2012. He succeeded Pope Shenouda III, who served for over 40 years. The Pope's role includes pastoral care, promoting Christian teachings, and addressing social issues affecting the Coptic community, both in Egypt and the diaspora.
