Constitutional Court of Russia
The Constitutional Court of Russia is the highest judicial authority responsible for interpreting the Constitution of the Russian Federation. Established in 1991, it ensures that laws and legal acts comply with the Constitution, protecting citizens' rights and freedoms.
The court consists of 19 judges, appointed by the President of Russia and approved by the Federation Council. It reviews cases brought by various entities, including federal and regional authorities, and has the power to declare laws unconstitutional, thereby maintaining the rule of law in the country.
