Constitution of Nepal
The Constitution of Nepal was adopted on September 20, 2015, establishing the country as a federal democratic republic. It serves as the supreme law, outlining the structure of government, fundamental rights, and the duties of citizens. The constitution aims to ensure social justice, equality, and the protection of diverse ethnic and cultural identities within the nation.
This constitution replaced the interim constitution of 2007 and was drafted after a long process involving various political parties and stakeholders. It divides Nepal into seven provinces, each with its own government, and emphasizes the importance of democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in the governance of the country.
