Constantine II of Greece
Constantine II of Greece was born on June 2, 1940, and became the last king of Greece, reigning from 1964 until 1973. He was the son of King Paul of Greece and Queen Frederica and was educated in Greece and abroad. His reign was marked by political instability and a military coup in 1967, which led to his eventual exile.
In 1973, a referendum abolished the monarchy, and Constantine II officially lost his throne. He lived in exile for many years, primarily in London, before returning to Greece in the 1990s. He passed away on January 10, 2023.
