The Concert of Europe was a system of international relations established in the early 19th century after the Napoleonic Wars. It aimed to maintain peace and stability in Europe by promoting cooperation among the major powers, including Austria, Prussia, Russia, and the United Kingdom. These nations held regular meetings to discuss and resolve conflicts, ensuring that no single country would dominate the continent.
This diplomatic framework helped to prevent large-scale wars in Europe for several decades. However, as nationalistic and revolutionary movements grew, the Concert began to weaken. By the late 19th century, the balance of power shifted, leading to tensions that eventually contributed to the outbreak of World War I.
