Compromise of Caspe
The Compromise of Caspe was an agreement reached in 1412 to resolve the succession crisis in the Kingdom of Aragon after the death of King Martin I. The crisis arose due to multiple claimants to the throne, leading to a power struggle among various factions.
To settle the dispute, a council of nobles and representatives from different regions convened in Caspe, Spain. They ultimately chose Ferdinand I of Antequera as the new king, establishing a peaceful resolution and ensuring stability in the region. This compromise marked a significant moment in Aragonese history.
