Common Stonechat
The Common Stonechat (*Saxicola rubicola*) is a small bird found across Europe, Asia, and parts of Africa. It typically inhabits open grasslands, scrublands, and edges of woodlands. The male is easily recognizable by its striking black head, orange breast, and white wing patches, while the female is more subdued in color, featuring brown and buff tones.
These birds are known for their distinctive call, which sounds like a series of sharp notes. They primarily feed on insects and small invertebrates, often perching on low shrubs or fences to spot their prey. The Common Stonechat is a migratory species, moving to warmer regions during the winter months.
