Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko
Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is a periodic comet that orbits the Sun every 6.44 years. It was discovered in 1969 by astronomers Klim Churyumov and Svetlana Gerasimenko. The comet has a distinctive duck-like shape and is about 4.1 kilometers long.
In 2014, the European Space Agency's Rosetta mission made history by becoming the first spacecraft to orbit a comet. It deployed the Philae lander, which successfully touched down on the comet's surface, providing valuable data about its composition and behavior.
