Colorectal Polyps
Colorectal polyps are small growths that form on the lining of the colon or rectum. They can vary in size and shape, and while most are benign (non-cancerous), some can develop into colorectal cancer over time. Regular screening, such as colonoscopy, is important for detecting and removing polyps before they become cancerous.
There are different types of colorectal polyps, including adenomatous polyps, which have the potential to become cancerous, and hyperplastic polyps, which are usually harmless. Symptoms may not be present, but some individuals may experience rectal bleeding or changes in bowel habits. Early detection and removal are key to preventing complications.
