Colonists
Colonists were people who settled in a new land, often moving from their home country to establish communities. In the context of American history, many colonists came from England, France, and Spain during the 16th to 18th centuries. They sought new opportunities, resources, and sometimes religious freedom in the New World.
These settlers faced various challenges, including conflicts with Native Americans, harsh weather, and limited supplies. Over time, they developed distinct cultures and economies, leading to the formation of the original Thirteen Colonies along the eastern coast of what is now the United States.
