Cocos (Keeling) Islands
The Cocos (Keeling) Islands are a group of 27 small islands located in the Indian Ocean, about halfway between Australia and Sri Lanka. They are a territory of Australia and are known for their stunning beaches, clear waters, and rich biodiversity. The islands are primarily inhabited by a small population of around 600 people, many of whom are of Malaysian descent.
The islands are divided into two atolls: the northern atoll, which includes Home Island and West Island, and the southern atoll, which is mostly uninhabited. The economy is mainly based on tourism, coconut production, and fishing. The Cocos (Keeling) Islands are also a popular destination for water sports and nature enthusiasts.
