Co-Sleeping
Co-sleeping refers to the practice of parents and children sleeping in the same bed or close to each other, often in the same room. This arrangement can foster bonding and make nighttime feedings easier for parents of infants. It is common in many cultures around the world and can vary in form, from sharing a bed to using a co-sleeper attached to the parents' bed.
While co-sleeping can promote closeness, it also raises safety concerns. Experts, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, recommend that infants sleep in their own crib or bassinet to reduce the risk of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Parents should weigh the benefits and risks before deciding on this sleeping arrangement.
