Co-Dependency
Co-dependency is a behavioral condition where one person excessively relies on another for emotional support, self-esteem, and decision-making. This often leads to an imbalance in the relationship, where one partner may prioritize the needs of the other over their own, resulting in feelings of neglect or resentment.
Typically, co-dependency can develop in relationships involving substance abuse, mental health issues, or trauma. Individuals may feel responsible for the other person's happiness and may struggle to establish healthy boundaries. Recognizing co-dependency is the first step toward fostering healthier, more balanced relationships.
