Clubmosses
Clubmosses are ancient, non-flowering plants that belong to the group known as lycophytes. They typically have small, scale-like leaves and reproduce using spores rather than seeds. Clubmosses thrive in moist, shaded environments, often found in forests and woodlands.
These plants have a rich history, dating back over 300 million years, and were once dominant during the Carboniferous period. Today, clubmosses are relatively small and are often used in ornamental gardening. They play a role in their ecosystems by providing habitat and contributing to soil health.
