Clovis IV
Clovis IV was a Merovingian king who ruled the Franks from 691 to 695 AD. He was the son of Clovis III and became king as a child, which led to a regency by his mother, Bathilde. His reign was marked by the decline of royal power and the increasing influence of the nobility and the church.
Clovis IV's rule was relatively short and not well-documented, reflecting the turbulent times of the Merovingian dynasty. After his death, he was succeeded by Childebert III, and the Merovingian kings continued to face challenges from powerful nobles and external threats.
