Clovis III
Clovis III was a king of the Franks who ruled during the late 7th century, specifically from 675 to 676 AD. He was a member of the Merovingian dynasty, which was known for its early rule over the Frankish kingdoms. Clovis III was the son of Clovis II and succeeded his father as king, although his reign was short and marked by limited power.
During his rule, Clovis III was primarily a figurehead, with real authority held by the mayors of the palace, particularly Ebroin. His reign is often seen as part of the decline of the Merovingian kings, as the influence of the mayors grew, leading to the eventual rise of the Carolingian dynasty.
