Clava Cairns
Clava Cairns is a prehistoric burial site located near Inverness in the Scottish Highlands. Dating back to around 4000 years ago, it consists of a group of burial mounds known as cairns, which are circular stone structures. These cairns are surrounded by standing stones and are believed to have been used for communal burial practices during the Bronze Age.
The site features three main cairns, each with a distinct design, and is part of a larger complex that includes several smaller burial mounds. Clava Cairns is significant for its well-preserved structures and offers insights into the funerary practices and beliefs of ancient communities in Scotland.
