Chris Hondros was an American photojournalist known for his powerful images that captured the realities of conflict and war. Born on March 14, 1970, in New York City, he gained recognition for his work in various global hotspots, including Iraq, Afghanistan, and Liberia. His photographs often highlighted the human cost of violence and the resilience of those affected.
Hondros worked for several prominent publications, including Getty Images and The New York Times. He received numerous awards for his contributions to photojournalism, including the World Press Photo award. Tragically, he was killed in 2011 while covering the civil conflict in Libya.
