Chinstrap Penguins
Chinstrap Penguins are medium-sized penguins known for the distinctive black band that runs under their heads, resembling a chinstrap. They primarily inhabit the sub-Antarctic islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, where they thrive in cold environments. These penguins are excellent swimmers, using their wings as flippers to catch fish and krill in the ocean.
Chinstrap Penguins are social birds, often found in large colonies that can number in the thousands. They build nests from pebbles and lay two eggs, which both parents take turns incubating. Their population is currently stable, making them a common sight in their natural habitat.
