Chinese Muslim
The term "Chinese Muslim" refers to the Muslim population in China, primarily consisting of two ethnic groups: the Hui and the Uighurs. The Hui people are ethnically Han Chinese but practice Islam, while the Uighurs are a Turkic ethnic group predominantly found in the Xinjiang region. Both groups have unique cultural practices and traditions influenced by their Islamic faith.
Islam has been present in China for over a thousand years, with the first Muslims arriving during the Tang Dynasty. Today, Chinese Muslims contribute to the country's diverse cultural landscape, with mosques, festivals, and culinary traditions that reflect their religious beliefs and heritage.
