Chinese Koreans
Chinese Koreans, also known as Chaoxianzu, are an ethnic minority group in China primarily residing in the northeastern provinces, particularly Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang. They are descendants of Koreans who migrated to China during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, often seeking better economic opportunities or fleeing from conflicts.
The community maintains its unique cultural identity, including language, traditions, and cuisine. Many Chinese Koreans speak Korean alongside Mandarin, and they celebrate traditional Korean festivals. Despite facing challenges such as assimilation pressures, they continue to preserve their heritage while contributing to the multicultural fabric of China.
