China Inland Mission
The China Inland Mission (CIM) was founded in 1865 by James Hudson Taylor to spread Christianity in the interior regions of China. The mission aimed to reach areas that were largely untouched by Western missionaries, focusing on evangelism, education, and healthcare. CIM emphasized cultural adaptation, encouraging missionaries to dress and live like the local people.
Over the years, the CIM grew significantly, sending thousands of missionaries to various provinces in China. The organization played a crucial role in establishing schools, hospitals, and churches, contributing to the spread of Christianity and social reform. CIM eventually became part of the O.M.F. International in 1964, continuing its legacy of mission work.
