Chibok
Chibok is a town located in the northeastern region of Nigeria. It is part of Borno State and is known for its predominantly Christian population. The town gained international attention in April 2014 when a group of militants from the Boko Haram terrorist organization kidnapped 276 schoolgirls from the local secondary school.
The Chibok kidnapping sparked global outrage and led to the #BringBackOurGirls campaign, which aimed to raise awareness and advocate for the safe return of the abducted girls. Since then, efforts have been made by the Nigerian government and international organizations to rescue the victims and address the ongoing security challenges posed by Boko Haram.
