Chetnik
The term "Chetnik" refers to members of a Serbian nationalist and royalist paramilitary group that emerged during World War II. They were originally formed to resist Axis occupation in Yugoslavia and aimed to restore the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. The Chetniks were led by Draža Mihailović and were known for their guerrilla warfare tactics.
The Chetniks are often associated with controversial actions, including collaboration with Axis forces at times and involvement in ethnic conflicts. After the war, many Chetnik leaders were tried for war crimes, and the group became a symbol of Serbian nationalism. Their legacy remains a topic of debate in Balkans history.
