Chess960
Chess960, also known as Fischer Random Chess, is a variant of chess that randomizes the starting positions of the pieces on the back rank. This format was invented by former world champion Bobby Fischer in 1996 to promote creativity and reduce the impact of opening theory.
In Chess960, the pawns remain in their usual positions, but the pieces can be arranged in 960 different ways. This randomness ensures that players must rely on their skills and adaptability rather than memorized openings, making each game unique and challenging.
