Charles I of Orléans
Charles I of Orléans was a French nobleman born in 1394, known for being the Duke of Orléans. He was a prominent figure during the Hundred Years' War between England and France. Captured at the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, he spent many years in English captivity before being released in 1440.
In addition to his political role, Charles I was also a talented poet and a key figure in the French Renaissance. His literary works contributed to the development of the French language and culture. He died in 1465, leaving a legacy as both a noble and a patron of the arts.
