Charles FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton
Charles FitzRoy, 3rd Duke of Grafton (1737-1811), was a British nobleman and politician. He was born into the FitzRoy family, which was linked to the royal family through King Charles II. The Duke served as the Prime Minister of Great Britain from 1768 to 1770, during a time of political turmoil and colonial unrest.
As a member of the Whig Party, Grafton faced challenges in managing the growing tensions with the American colonies. His tenure was marked by difficulties in governance, leading to his resignation. After leaving office, he continued to play a role in British politics and held various positions in the House of Lords.
