Central-Mid-Levels Escalator
The Central-Mid-Levels Escalator is a series of escalators and walkways in Hong Kong that connect the Central district to the Mid-Levels area. It spans over 800 meters and is the longest outdoor covered escalator system in the world, providing a convenient way for residents and visitors to navigate the steep terrain.
Opened in 1993, the escalator system operates in an uphill direction during the morning and downhill in the evening, accommodating the flow of commuters. It features several access points, shops, and cafes along the route, making it a popular spot for both locals and tourists.
