The Celsus Library is an ancient Roman building located in Ephesus, Turkey. Constructed around 135 AD, it was built to honor Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, a wealthy Roman senator. The library was designed to hold around 12,000 scrolls and served as a major center of learning in the region. Architecturally, the library features a grand façade with intricate columns and statues. It was part of a larger complex that included a gymnasium and a marketplace. The Celsus Library remains one of the best-preserved structures from the ancient world, attracting many visitors each year.
