Cathedra Petri
Cathedra Petri refers to the throne of Saint Peter, symbolizing the authority of the Pope within the Roman Catholic Church. Located in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, it is an important religious artifact that represents the continuity of the papal office since the time of Saint Peter, one of Jesus Christ's apostles and the first Pope.
The throne is housed in a grand niche designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and is made of wood, encased in a magnificent bronze structure. The design features four Church Fathers who support the throne, emphasizing the connection between the papacy and the early Church.
