Cassini-Huygens mission
The Cassini-Huygens mission was a collaborative space exploration project between NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Italian Space Agency (ASI). Launched in 1997, it aimed to study the planet Saturn, its rings, and its moons. The mission included the Cassini orbiter, which provided detailed images and data about Saturn's atmosphere and magnetic field, and the Huygens probe, which landed on Titan, Saturn's largest moon, in 2005.
The mission significantly advanced our understanding of the Saturnian system, revealing complex ring structures and diverse geological features on Titan. Over its 13-year mission, Cassini sent back a wealth of information, transforming our knowledge of planetary science and the dynamics of gas giants.
