Carthaginian Ships
Carthaginian ships were primarily designed for trade and warfare during the ancient Mediterranean period. The most notable type was the quinquereme, a warship with five rows of oars on each side, allowing for speed and maneuverability. These ships were often equipped with a ram at the front for attacking enemy vessels.
In addition to their military use, Carthaginian ships played a crucial role in commerce. They facilitated trade across the Mediterranean, connecting Carthage with various regions, including Sicily, Spain, and North Africa. Their advanced design and construction techniques contributed to Carthage's prominence as a maritime power.
