Carlsbad Caverns National Park
Carlsbad Caverns National Park is located in southeastern New Mexico and is famous for its stunning limestone caves. The park features over 119 caves, with the most notable being the Carlsbad Cavern, which is known for its large chambers and unique rock formations. Visitors can explore the caverns through guided tours or self-guided walks, experiencing the beauty of stalactites and stalagmites.
The park is also home to diverse wildlife, including bats, which are particularly active during the summer months. Each evening, thousands of Brazilian free-tailed bats emerge from the cave, creating a spectacular sight. The park was established in 1930 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
