Carlota Joaquina of Spain
Carlota Joaquina of Spain was born on December 12, 1775, in San Lorenzo de El Escorial, Spain. She was the daughter of King Charles IV of Spain and Queen Maria Luisa of Spain. In 1785, she married Prince João of Portugal, later becoming the Queen Consort of Portugal.
Throughout her life, Carlota Joaquina played a significant role in the political landscape of the Iberian Peninsula. She was known for her strong personality and influence during the tumultuous period of the Napoleonic Wars, which affected both Spain and Portugal in the early 19th century.
