Carlo Maderno
Carlo Maderno (1556–1629) was an influential Italian architect and sculptor, known for his significant contributions to Baroque architecture. He played a key role in the design of the St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City, where he completed the façade and extended the building's structure. His work marked a transition from the Renaissance style to the more dynamic and expressive Baroque style.
Maderno was also responsible for several other notable buildings in Rome, including the Santa Susanna church and the Palazzo Barberini.
