Caria
Caria was an ancient region located in southwestern Anatolia, which is now part of modern-day Turkey. It was bordered by the Aegean Sea to the west and was known for its mountainous terrain and rich cultural heritage. The region was home to various cities, including Halicarnassus, famous for the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The inhabitants of Caria were known as the Carians, who spoke a unique language and had distinct customs. Caria was influenced by neighboring cultures, including the Greeks and Persians, and played a significant role in ancient trade and military activities. The region eventually became part of the Roman Empire.
