Cape Cross
Cape Cross is a prominent headland located on the Atlantic coast of Namibia. It is known for its stunning coastal scenery and rich marine life. The area is particularly famous for its large colony of Cape fur seals, which can be seen basking on the rocks and swimming in the ocean.
In addition to its natural beauty, Cape Cross is historically significant. It was the site where Portuguese explorer Diogo Cão erected a stone cross in 1486, marking the first European contact with the Namibian coast. Today, the site is a protected area and a popular destination for tourists and wildlife enthusiasts.
