Cancer Therapies
Cancer therapies are medical treatments designed to eliminate or control cancer cells in the body. Common approaches include surgery, which removes tumors; radiation therapy, which uses high-energy rays to kill cancer cells; and chemotherapy, which involves drugs that target rapidly dividing cells. Each therapy can be used alone or in combination, depending on the type and stage of cancer.
In recent years, new therapies have emerged, such as immunotherapy, which helps the body's immune system recognize and attack cancer cells, and targeted therapy, which focuses on specific genetic changes in cancer cells. These advancements aim to improve treatment effectiveness and reduce side effects.
