Camino Real
The Camino Real is a historic road that connected various regions in colonial Mexico, stretching from Mexico City to San Juan Pueblo in present-day New Mexico. It served as a vital trade route and facilitated the movement of people, goods, and ideas between Spanish settlements and indigenous communities.
Originally established in the 16th century, the Camino Real played a significant role in the expansion of Spanish influence in the Americas. Today, parts of this route are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, highlighting its cultural and historical importance in the context of the Spanish colonization of North America.
