Calydonian Hunt
The Calydonian Hunt is a famous event from Greek mythology, where a group of heroes was assembled to hunt a monstrous boar sent by the goddess Artemis. The hunt took place in Calydon, a city in ancient Greece, and was prompted by the king, Oeneus, who had neglected to honor Artemis in his sacrifices.
The hunt featured notable figures such as Atalanta, the only female hero, who played a crucial role in the hunt's success. After a fierce battle, the boar was ultimately killed by Meleager, another key hero, leading to a series of tragic events among the hunters.
