Callicrates
Callicrates was an ancient Greek architect known for his work on significant structures during the Classical period. He is best recognized for his role in designing the Parthenon on the Acropolis of Athens, a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena. His architectural style emphasized harmony, proportion, and the use of the Doric order.
In addition to the Parthenon, Callicrates is credited with the design of the Temple of Athena Nike, a smaller temple that exemplifies the elegance of Ionic architecture. His contributions to ancient Greek architecture have had a lasting impact on Western architectural principles and aesthetics.
