Calipatria
Calipatria is a small city located in Imperial County, California. It is situated in the southeastern part of the state, near the Salton Sea and surrounded by desert landscapes. The city was incorporated in 1919 and has a population of around 7,500 residents.
The area is known for its agricultural activities, particularly in growing crops like cotton and alfalfa. Calipatria is also notable for its proximity to the Calipatria State Prison, which is one of the largest prisons in California. The city experiences a hot desert climate, with very little rainfall throughout the year.
