Cairndhu Lighthouse
Cairndhu Lighthouse is located on the eastern coast of Northern Ireland, near the town of Ballygally. Built in 1848, it was designed by the renowned engineer Robert Stevenson and stands at a height of 36 feet. The lighthouse helps guide ships safely through the Irish Sea and is an important navigational aid for maritime traffic in the area.
The lighthouse features a distinctive white tower with a black lantern, making it easily recognizable. It was automated in 1988, which means it no longer requires a resident keeper. Today, Cairndhu Lighthouse remains a popular landmark and is often photographed by visitors exploring the scenic coastline.
