Cage-Free Eggs
Cage-free eggs come from hens that are not kept in small cages. Instead, these hens are allowed to roam freely in a barn or indoor space, which provides them with more room to move around, spread their wings, and engage in natural behaviors. This method of farming aims to improve the welfare of the hens compared to traditional caged systems.
While cage-free hens have more space, they may still be housed indoors and may not have outdoor access. The term "cage-free" does not guarantee organic or free-range conditions, which have additional requirements for outdoor access and feed quality.
