Cacao Beans
Cacao beans are the seeds of the cacao tree, scientifically known as Theobroma cacao. These beans are the primary ingredient used to make chocolate and are found inside the fruit of the cacao tree, called cacao pods. Each pod contains numerous beans surrounded by a sweet, white pulp.
After harvesting, cacao beans undergo fermentation, drying, and roasting processes to develop their rich flavor. They are then ground into a paste known as cocoa mass, which can be further processed into cocoa powder and cocoa butter. Cacao beans are also valued for their health benefits, including antioxidants and essential minerals.
