Cañada de la Virgen
Cañada de la Virgen is an archaeological site located in the central region of Mexico, near the city of San Miguel de Allende. It was a significant ceremonial center for the Otomi and Chichimeca cultures, featuring impressive pyramids and plazas. The site dates back to around 500 AD and was actively used until the arrival of the Spanish in the 16th century.
The site is known for its unique architectural features and astronomical alignments, which suggest that it played a role in the ancient peoples' understanding of celestial events. Today, Cañada de la Virgen is a protected area and a popular destination for tourists and researchers interested in pre-Hispanic history.
