Buddhist Holidays
Buddhist holidays celebrate significant events in the life of the Buddha and the teachings of Buddhism. One of the most important holidays is Vesak, which commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and death of the Buddha. It is observed on the full moon in May and includes rituals such as meditation, chanting, and offering food to monks.
Another notable holiday is Asalha Puja, which marks the Buddha's first sermon after his enlightenment. This day, usually in July, emphasizes the importance of the Four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. Buddhists often engage in community activities, such as giving to charity and participating in temple services.
